Tara holds a B.A. in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Park University. She completed her clinical internship at a PHP/IOP hospital setting in the Chicagoland Area. There, she focused on leading groups for children/adolescents with mood/anxiety disorders and school refusal behavior.

Tara is trained in evidence-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). This type of treatment empowers her clients to effectively implement coping skills and change maladaptive patterns of thinking. She also approaches therapy with a belief that the mind-body connection is important to one’s overall health and wellbeing. A former collegiate athlete, Tara now enjoys coaching in her spare time and loves working with young athletes to address the challenges of being a student-athlete.
